A Memorable Olympic Moment

In the spirit of the current Beijing Olympics, I thought an inspirational Olympic video from days gone past would be a good pick this week.

In the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, 400m runner Derek Redmond incurred a hamstring injury during the race.

Overwhelmed by pain, he fell to the ground, but something inside him insisted he get up and finish the race.

In the following moments, he persevered, hopping down the track.

His Father joined him and helped him to the finish line.

This is one of the most moving moments in Olympic History.

The Inspirational Fisherman

>

This amazing video features the inspiring story of Clay Dyer, a professional fisherman with no limbs.

Despite his limitations, he participates in competitions, and is widely respected in his field.

Clay chooses to spend his life focusing on what he does have, rather than what he doesn’t have.

Nothing will stop him in the pursuit of his dream – to win a fishing tournament.

Touching Them All

A truly inspiring story of sportsmanship.

With two runners on bases, and with one strike against her, Western Oregon’s Sara Tucholsky did something she had never done before – she hit her first home run and it cleared the fences.

As she ran to first base, she injured her knee, leaving her in pain on the ground.

Due to game rules, her team mates were unable to help her, leaving what appeared to be her only career home run, as a single.

You’ll have to watch the video, to find out what happened next, but let’s just say it’s a very touching story.
